Defy Gravity puts us in the shoes of Kara, a Samus-like gravitymancer who attemps to surpass The Gauntlet, and to do so she must use her weapon to alter gravity and manage to avoid the different obstacles she'll find on her way.
At first glance it looks fairly generic and graphics-wise it could have been done better, yet it's game-mechanics are what make this game good. In it you can create gravitational fields that either push you away or sucks you in to clear any obstacle that's in the way. They also affect all the golden objects you can find thorough the game. There's a golden shuriken coming your way? Get it away from you with the anti-gravity well. You need that golden platform that's too far from you? Worry not, use the gravity well and it'll be right next to you. Of course this has it's limitations: For starters you can't shoot more than 2 wells of each kind while in midair (unless you step on a floating marble) and any well you've previously shot will dissapear as soon as you shoot a new one of the same kind. By the way, there's no life counter so you can try to pass those tricky parts as much as you need.

Another good aspect of the game is it's soundtrack. All of it's tracks are really soothing which helps to prevent players to get frustrated. After all you'll die a lot in this game. I personally like all but one of the tracks.
As I mentioned before, the graphics could have been better. The main character's design, while not bad, is not very attractive and there's a very little variety of enemies. I must admit the backgrounds and the effects of the wells are really good (and you can even use them as a background for your Steam account!)

Overall, I would recommend this game. It's perfect to kill some time since it's fairly short, it's really entertaining if not a bit rage-inducing, and without discounts it's as expensive as a bottle of cola.
